Vacation Bible School 2022: Kingdom KidsVacation Bible School, otherwise known as VBS, is a pillar of the Children’s Ministry of the Trinitarian Congregational Church whose mission is to introduce school aged youth to the foundations of the Bible through intentional lessons, activities, and collaborative play. In this way, the church desires to embody the instructions of this insightful proverb: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6.
This program has been growing in its service to the youth of the community for almost a decade. VBS runs annually in the first week of August from 6-8 p.m. each evening. The festivities conclude with a Children’s Sunday service where the VBS participants are highlighted in a Children’s Choir piece and other special duties. The joyous and peaceful atmosphere of VBS at the Trinitarian Congregational Church has shown itself to be an enriching experience for so many of the participants through the years. Through the teaching of the Scriptures, the reverent worship of God in the sanctuary, and in crafts, games, and snacks there is much to be gained by such a valuable program. |

2019: The Bee-Attitudes!
Each of our evening lessons focused around a portion of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount – often referred to as the Beatitudes -- where Jesus calls us blessed.
Matthew 5:2-10,
2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

2018: God's Amazing Creation
The Story of Everything
During the summer of 2018, our original VBS program was “GOD’S AMAZING CREATION: The Story of Everything”. Our memory verse came from Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” We enjoyed learning about all that God made including how WE were made in God's image!
2017: Cracking the Code
We enjoyed "cracking the code" during VBS this summer. We learned all about how the Bible is holy and inspired by God, how it "traveled" to us, how it's organized, and how we can read this amazing book. Theme Verse: Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
2016: You Are the Light of the World
We enjoyed another wonderful VBS program this past summer. We learned how Jesus is the Greatest & Ultimate Light and how we can also shine Jesus' light to others. Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
2015: Fruits of the Spirit
We experienced another amazing week together as we explored the fruits of the spirit during the week of August 3 -7, 2015 each evening from 6-8 p.m. Galations 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
2014: Finding My Place in God's Story
We had a wonderful time learning about our special place in God's amazing story! Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers for making this week possible, and thank you to all the children who made this week so much fun!
Children ages 4-11 were invited to attend Vacation Bible School August 4th -8th, 2014 each evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. This year our theme was "Scavenger Hunt: Finding My Place in God's Story" where Matthew 7:7 was our focus for the week: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
